AT&T's CallVantage VoIP Service - Router
Just a quick tip on this - if you're behind a router, place the telephone adapter behind the router as well, not as a passthrough from the modem to the router. I had an incident this week where Comcast's service died, and took the VoIP out with it; once Comcast came back up, the TA still would not respond, meaning that the router wasn't getting a signal, so I could still not access either the web or use the phone. Putting the TA behind the router got me back online, but the TA required to be both reset (hard reset, using the push button on the back) as well as re-activated via AT&T's CallVantage website.
The literature states that the connection isn't as clear from behind the router, but I haven't notcied a difference. From a technical perspective, having the TA behind the router is clearly superior to using it as a passthrough, and should be described as such in AT&T's printed and online documentation.
Hopefully this tips helps someone!
